Ten times the size of Great Britain, WA is the largest Australian State. A vast amount of this is desert. However in the South West is more fertile and the best walking is to be found in this area. In the far south of the state is the Stirling Range offering the only true mountain experience of the area.

During 2007 I lived in Perth from February to September, during this time I was working. We still  managed to see parts of the long distance 'Bibb' Track in the Perth Hills and Darling Scarp Area. As I was told by a Western Australian Bush Walker: "Appreciating the WA Bush is an art of appreciating the subtle"
In October 2007 after finishing my contract, we completed a section of the Bibb Track, from Pemberton to Walpole.
