The Peak District is situated in Central and Northern England and is a rural upland area surrounded by several of the countries Larger cities, making it easily accessible and very popular. It is split in to two main regions. In the South is the White Peak, which has a Limestone Geology and in the North is the Dark Peak which is mainly Gritstone (as well as a whole lot of mud). The rolling nature of the countryside makes it suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities, but a wilderness it most certainly isn't.

Photographs from four visits.

In December 2005 I stopped off in the Peak District on the way back from Scotland to enjoy the frozen conditions.
October 2005 saw us mountain biking Jacobs Ladder and trying to complete the traverse of the Kinder Plateau.
In October 2004 we mountain biked from Lady Bower and had a look at Stanage.
A cold and wet November 2003 saw us backpacking over Kinder and Bleaklow.
