A fairly remote tramp, which crosses the southern edge of the Olivine Wilderness Area. The Five Passes trip is an excellent five to seven day tramp which crosses : Sugarloaf Pass, Park Pass, Cow Saddle, Fiery Col and Fohn Saddle. There are no huts, only occasional rough tracks and a number of river crossings which could be difficult after rain.

Photographs from one visit.

We completed this journey over seven days in November 2006, the first and last days were wet, but we were lucky enough to have good weather for the more difficult sections. Fiery Col and Fohn Saddle were both snow covered and required the use of ice axe and crampons.
