With an area of some 115000 square kilometres the North Island of New Zealand stretches from Cape Reinga in the North, to the capital Wellington in the South. Although less mountainous than the South Island, the North Island is blessed with a beautiful and diverse landscape ranging from beautiful coastline, dense bush and an active volcanic area.

Photographs from two visits.

Whilst living in New Zealand for 2006 I spent a month on North Island around September and October time. As well as tramping at Cape Reinga, Tongariro and Taranaki, we visited Wellington and Wanganui, which are the photos in this Gallery.

In January 2005 I spent a month in New Zealand. The photos in this Gallery are from my time in Auckland and the Island of Rangitoto just off the coast from the city.
