At the top of North
Island, Cape Reinga benefits from a warm climate all year round. Some of
the best coastal walking in the country can be found here, a world away
from the busy beaches and coves of Abel Tasman. The area is rich in
Maori culture and history with a Large number of sacred and historical
sites.
Photographs from one visit.
In September 2006 we spent four days on the Cape
Reinga Walkway, which finished with a trip down 90 Mile Beach, a huge
expanse of sand suitable for cars and buses, which is classed as a legal
road.
