There is only one
road down the West Coast. State Highway 6 hugs the Small area of flat
land between the wild Tasman Sea and the Main Divide of the Southern
Alps. This Gallery contains pictures from Greymouth down as far as the
Haast Pass, the National Parks of Punakaiki and Kahurangi are covered
separately.
Photographs from three visits.
In November 2006 we spent a day on Fox Glacier, having
a little bit of an explore, as we made our way down The West Coast.
In February and March 2006 I slowly travelled down the
West Coast, from Greymouth and eventually crossed the Haast Pass. On the
way I stopped of at Hokitika and then at Harihari to tramp the Wanganui River,
Franz Joseph and Fox Glacier.
In January 2005 I spent a couple of days at Franz Joseph on a brief
visit to the West Coast.
