The Isle of Arran is known as Scotland in miniature, due to such a Small area containing a wide diversity of landscapes. The Highland Boundary Fault runs straight through the centre of the Island, creating a split between the mountainous north and the lowlands of the South. Some of the best walking is to be found in the Glen Rosa and on Goat Fell. The mountain of Cir Mhor is one of Scotlands lesser known, but most beautiful mountains. Photographs from one visit. In October 2003 I spent a few days on Arran. Although it is hard to have a 'favourite' mountain when there are so many to choose from, in my view Cir Mhor would certainly be near the top of my list. |
