One of the most spectacular glens in Scotland, Glencoe has a long and rich history, including the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692. The peaks around the glen are some of the most famous and photographed in Scotland, with Buachaille Etive Mor and the Three Sisters (part of Bidean nam Bian) to the South, and The Aonach Eagach Ridge, the mainland UK's narrowest and most spectacular ridge to the North. The ease of access to the mountains from the main road through the Glen have ensured a long Mountaineering history and the surrounding cliffs will forever be associated with some of the most famous characters from the UK climbing scene.

Photographs from two visits.

We stayed in Glen Orchy over Christmas 2005, which saw fine weather throughout the week, allowing us to do some fantastic walking.
In March 2005 Glencoe was the base for my Winter Mountain Leader Training, organised through Plas y Brenin.
