Fisherfield Forest is one of the remotest areas of the North West Highlands, in the region of Wester Ross. It covers a Large area of uninhabited country, some of which is maintained as Large deer stalking estates. Within this region there are many opportunities for multi day expeditions and two Bothy's offer basic shelter near the edge of the area. The region also holds the remotest Munro in Scotland, which is highly prized by the Munro Baggers. In the north is one of the finest mountains in Scotland - An Teallach, "The Forge". The complete traverse of this mountain makes for a strenuous and rewarding day.

Photographs from one visit.

In June 2004 I completed a twelve day backpack across The Fannichs and Fisherfield Forest. The photos here are mainly from the Fisherfield area, when the weather was slightly better.
