The Knoydart Peninsula and The Rough Bounds is an inaccessible and rough part of Western Scotland. There are only two access points: By ferry to Inverie (which has the distinction of Britain's remotest pub) or on foot by way of Kinloch Hourn using the path network built by deer stalkers. The area has a dark history, the emptiness of the lands today are mainly due to the Highland Clearances when tenants of the estate were forcibly evicted from their homes.

Photographs from one visit

In May 2004 we completed a nine day expedition in the Knoydart Peninsula, starting and finishing at Kinloch Hourn. Along the way we climbed Ladhar Bheinn and stopped off for a pint at The Old Forge, which is Britain's most remote pub.
