Flanked to the north by the famous Ben Lawers, Loch Tay runs East to West for a distance of some 14 miles. There is good walking to be had on the Ben Lawers Range, the most interesting probably slightly to the west on the Tarmachan Ridge.
Glen Lyon is on the North side of the Lawers Range. From the head of the glen it is possible to access a surprisingly Large area of remote land, that sees few visitors.

Photographs from three visits.

In December 2006 we came back to Loch Tay. Although the valleys were cloudy, we managed to get above the weather to enjoy some good conditions on the tops.
In December 2004 we were based in Glen Lyon, were we had a lot of snow!
We had more mixed conditions in 2003 when we were staying alongside Loch Tay, but still got some good winter walking in.
