The Wind River Range is part of the Rocky Mountains and spans the American Continental Divide. The mountains run for nearly one hundred miles, north to south and within this region there are three designated wilderness areas. Along the divide there are more than forty peaks over 13000'. Below this there is a plateau which runs much of the length along the mountain range, which is where most of the designated hiking trails are.

Photographs from one visit.

During August 2004 I completed a twelve day backpack through the stunning Wind River Mountains in Wyoming. This was mainly on the Highline and Fremont Trails and included an ascent of Freemont Peak from Island Lake.
Afterwards we spent some time in Jackson and Boulder.
